Need a fashion boost? Here are some tips on how to step up your style with eyewear.
If you’re a heavy hitter at the office - or you want to be hired as one, your eyewear conveys that the minute you walk into a room. Eyewear is fashion. Never plan on choosing “timeless” glasses and expect to wear them for five years. Find eyewear that makes you feel amazing right now. When you look great you feel confident. Confidence never goes out of style and it is a quality people find irresistible.
Also, consider your lifestyle and the eyewear you need to go with it.
Men: choose clean, classic frames from designers like Mykita and Freudenhaus for an office where shirts and ties are worn, but select a second pair of glasses that are more edgy or bold (JF Rey and Eye ‘DC are great choices) to change into for “after hours.”Shop for high performance eyewear from Adidas and Rudy Project for golf, biking or other sports, and sexy sunglasses for festivals (read: flirting).
Women should think the same way when choosing new eyewear. Professional and contemporary frames by designers like Kio Yamoto and Zero G for the office show you’re on top of your game. Then find eyewear by a designer like Face a Face or Alain Mikli that is a little more sassy to show your personality outside the office. Also, consider the colors you wear. Since eyewear is an accessory, brick red may be a great choice to go with your black wardrobe staples, but you may love they way a deep green frame looks on your skin if you tend to wear earthy tones. With the lines we carry at Eye Candy, it's easy to chose a sunglass that looks perfect on you. Check out Chrome Heart's rock star styles or the “classic with a contemporary twist” look of Salt or Beausoleil. Ready to make a style statement? Go bold with the fun looks by LaFont or Face a Face for a sizzling summer look that’ll really melt his Popsicle! (wink).
Above all, use your eyewear as an inspiration for self expression. Show the world you’re a creative art director or a glamourous fashionista with eyewear styles that express your individuality. That’s what fashion is all about. And that’s sexy.

I’m baaaack! New York was AWESOME! First, just let me mention that the weather was beautiful – sunny and in the 70’s every day. Definitely, not too hard to take. But rest assured that I didn’t play hooky. I was meeting with both new and old vendors and choosing amazing new frames and sunglasses that will be coming into the shop. I’m so excited! This stuff is incredible. New releases from Chrome Hearts and Blinde are big and edgy, Dilem has some great new rimless and plastics and the new temple options are full of color and patterns, Cogan has several gorgeous new pieces that I couldn’t resist. And do you love color, funky, and ‘hey where did you get those great glasses’ kind of attention? Then just wait until you see Face a Face from France. You’ll fall in love like I did! We’re posting some pictures here on the site and on Facebook to wet your appetite. So check back, and I’ll let you know when these great new styles are in the shop.

We sure had fun at the Birthday Bash/Spring Fling Trunk Show on Saturday! Shoppers were really excited by the Dilem collection that our rep Shad brought in. What could be better than getting two great looks with one frame by switching out the temples from one look to another? The hard part was choosing from all the great combinations! And Channing from Iyoko Inyake was busy showing his beautiful and funky Japanese collection. What amazing styles and colors! And to top it off, the chocolate fountain and green punch was a sweet addition to the day. Now I’m gearing up to head to New York for Vision Expo. This is always an exciting trip – all the newest styles, new collections to preview, meeting up with old friends and making new ones – and hey – it’s in New York City, what could be better than that! I’ll take lots of pictures so you’ll get to see some of the sights with me. Stay tuned!

And also joining us will be Channing Spiegel and his beautiful Japanese line, Iyoko Inyake. Amazing designs and color combinations – and each frame is a limited edition – so get ‘em while you can! Hey Eye Candy Sports Fans! Eye Candy is starting off the new year with something exciting! On January 29, we are going to have our first ever Sports Trunk Show. We will be featuring Adidas and Tag Heuer. Adidas has a great line of sports sunwear that can be worn for many different kinds of sports – running, biking, skiing, and hiking to name a few. But they really specialize in eyewear for golf. The styles are lightweight, sporty and cool, and the lenses are awesome for high contrast which means you’ll read the greens better. And most of the styles can be made with your prescription. Joyce Ellen is our rep and she’ll be here to talk about the newest and coolest and show you how great eyewear can improve your game (or at least make you look good trying!).
Tag Heuer has an awesome line of ‘sports vision’ eyewear. Their watersports lens is an amazing grey, polarized lens with a backside anti-reflection coating that cuts all of the glare when you’re out on the water. They also have specific lenses for high mountain hiking and night vision. Many styles are also available with photochromic lenses so they are very versatile in changing light conditions. And the frame and sunglass styles are unique to Tag. Wraps and shields in the sunwear, many with rubberized temples to keep them from sliding as you heat up. The frame styles are lightweight, contemporary and cool but with a sporty feel with lots of rimless options. Don from Tag will be joining us to show you all of the great new styles and lens options.
We’ll also have a super selection of other sports lines that you can check out while you’re here. Rudy Project, Technically Cool Eyewear is designed by bike riders for bike riders, many available in prescription. Wiley X has lots of cool wrap sunglasses with several styles specifically for motorcycle riders. Maui Jim, all polarized sunglasses, great for the beach and boating. And our newest line, Switch has interchangeable lenses that ‘switch’ out effortlessly as they are held in by magnets.
Want to see more about these great lines? Go to www.eyecandysport.com to see a sample of what we’ll be showing.
And to really sweeten the deal, we are giving away Bucks tickets with every complete pair of prescription frame and lens orders, that day only. (While supplies last.) So come early for a great selection and a chance to see the Bucks for free!
So mark your calendar and put a memo in your Blackberry for Friday, January 29, 2010 from 3pm to 8pm cuz you don’t want to miss it!

Hey, did you hear about the awesome trunk shows we were having the two days after Thanksgiving and were totally bummed out because you couldn’t make it? Well, the new frames we ordered for the shop from those two collections are here! The colors in Studio 3 are scrumptious – the hand painted details are amazing – you have to see them, they are just too beautiful to describe. And the Cogan’s are hot! If you haven’t watched the video, check it out. Several of the pieces that Tracy features are here – like the spiral staircase temples – in red! And some awesome unique styles for the man who doesn’t want to look like just one of the guys. But hurry in, because you know how it goes. We sell each frame only once, so the sooner you come in the more of these gorgeous styles you’ll have to choose from. Happy Shopping!

Hey, it’s that time of the year again – Christmas shopping! Do you have someone on your list who is impossible to buy for? They have everything, or you just don’t want to give them some lame sweater or collectable? Here’s an idea if you want to think outside the (gaily wrapped) box. Eyewear! Do they wear contacts? How about hot, new sunglasses? Do they get into sports? How about sports sunwear that’s just for biking or golfing or whatever their passion is? Is it a parent who’s eyewear was new two presidents ago? How about all the siblings chipping in with an Eye Candy gift card so mom or dad (or grandma or grandpa) can get a great new look for the new year? Get the idea? No matter who that special someone in your life is, we can find a unique and awesome gift for them. And if you’d like them to be able to shop for themselves, Eye Candy gift cards are available in any denomination. Come on in! Paula and Dena are here to help you – and we gift wrap!

Eye Candy’s kicking off the holidays with a weekend of Trunk Shows!
We didn’t really like the term “Black Friday” so we invited two of our most vibrant and colorful lines in for a post holiday event!
Hi Eye Candy Fans!
Here is a little poem we wrote about all the things you need to know about Eye Candy’s holiday Trunk Show Friday, November 27th and Saturday, November 28th.
It was pretty near impossible to get in that Cogan was on Friday and Studio 3 was on Saturday AND that you should remember that now is a perfect time to use up your Flex-Spend money.
And to make it rhyme, and fit the season too! (Personally, I think it was a lot to ask. What next? Dancing monkeys?)
You should tell them that when you go in and check out how unbelievably cool Cogan is. I mean, how do these guys make frames sophisticated and funky?
And the Studio 3 line is amazing. It’s art, really. Every one is hand painted! The temples on some of the frames are transparent with colored designs. They remind me of the stained glass windows I used to stare at when I wasn’t paying attention in church. I still do that. Short attention span. It’s a curse.
What was I talking about? Oh yeah-
Also- I forgot to mention that gift cards from Eye Candy are great for people who are hard to shop for.
Anyway. I hope you like the little rhyme. It’s supposed to be read like the Night Before Christmas. (I thought the “Twas part made that obvious, but with kids twittering instead of reading, maybe nobody knows this story anymore.)
Happy Holidays.... Eye Candy’s agency
‘Twas the night of Thanksgiving
And all through the house
We were gathering our bags
Just as quiet as a mouse.
Tomorrow Cogan appears
With their sassy frame style-
They say those who wear them,
Possess the power to beguile.
They’re only here Friday
To miss them-’tis a shame
Your friends will be telling you
That you’d wish that you came!
Saturday! With joy `we sing!
When designer, Studio 3
Santa’s sleigh will bring!
Each frame is hand painted,
No two are alike!
When you wear them you feel
Like a jewel in the night!
Inside Eye Candy,
The boutique sparkles bright.
Beautiful eyewear for every
Size, shape and height!
With all the extra pairs
The trunk shows do bring-
Not finding the perfect pair
Is an impossible thing!
Use Flex-Spend! Use Gift Cards!
Use Checks, Cash or Credit!
Buy One Pair! Buy Two Pair!
Gosh Darn, Pay with Debit!
And when whispers you hear
From those far and near
Believe! My dear, believe! For it is true.
When Eye Candy sells you a frame
It is completely, uniquely, only for you!
